Heart disease is the number one killer in the United States. It is more deadly than any form of cancer. Unfortunately, there is a lot of confusion and lack of understanding about the severity and symptoms of heart disease. This month, Enertech took a stand to raise awareness, and encourage employees to learn the warning signs and risk factors of heart disease and stroke.

National Wear Red Day is celebrated on the first Friday in February of each year. And this year, Feb. 6, 2015, marked the 12th annual National Wear Red Day. Enertech employees participated by wearing red items of clothing to work in both our Greenville and Mitchell locations. National Wear Red Day is a campaign by the American Heart Foundation to break the barriers against heart disease and stroke for our mothers, sisters, daughters and friends.

Ninety percent of women have one or more risk factors for developing heart disease. The symptoms of heart disease can be different in women and men and are often misunderstood. But, since the start of Wear Red Day there has been a 23% increase in awareness that heart disease is the #1 killer of women. Enertech is excited to join the Wear Red Day movement to end heart disease and stroke, to continue to raise awareness, and help both men and women live healthier lives.

Thanks to all employees who participated. At Enertech, we believe in improving the global atmosphere through environmental consciousness, a culture of care, and enduring optimism. Your partnership and commitment to social change are a key part of achieving this goal.
