Earth Day is very important to us at Enertech because it celebrates one of our favorite things: the planet! From the products we make to our recycling program, we are committed to making a difference for our world. In fact, part of our company philosophy is a belief in improving the global atmosphere through environmental consciousness, a culture of care, and enduring optimism.

What exactly is Earth Day? Senator Gaylord Nelson founded Earth Day after seeing the effects of the 1969 oil spill in Santa Barbara. Senator Nelson realized that if he could infuse the energy of the student movements of the day with a public consciousness about air and water pollution, he could put environmental issues on the national stage. As a result of his efforts on April 22, 1970, 20 million Americans demonstrated for a healthy, sustainable environment in coast-to-coast rallies.

Today Earth Day is the largest civic event in the world, celebrated simultaneously around the globe by people of all backgrounds, faiths and nationalities. Earth Day broadens the base of support for environmental programs, rekindles public commitment and builds community activism around the world through a broad range of events and activities.

We are encouraging Enertech employees at both of our facilities to take simple actions today to benefit the environment. Going green can be as simple as carpooling to work, recycling junk mail, or using reusable shopping bags. Our employees can always be counted on to go above and beyond when it comes to doing good and benefiting their communities. They consistently prove that what makes Enertech different is our people.

Join us this Earth Day in doing something good for our planet. You can even register your good deed on the Earth Day website to connect with the larger movement. And don’t forget to spread the word that installing geothermal heating and cooling can make every day Earth Day!
