Albany Heating, Air Conditioning & Service, Inc. is a small shop doing big things. Brian Pilarski established the company in 2002 in Avon, MN. He has has been installing geothermal since Albany’s first year in business and joined the Enertech family in 2010.

With the help of the GEOSmart program, Albany Heating increased their business by over 20%. When a furnace goes out in the winter, people are thinking about Christmas and other year-end expenses. Brian believes that if he didn’t offer a financing program, homeowners would shop around for someone who did.
“Once you have your foot in the door, you want to stay there,” Brian said, “Financing takes a lot of worries off the homeowner.” It breaks the cost of the system into a smaller, more manageable amount and helps relieve homeowners from sticker shock. Brian offers financing on every job, and about 50% of Albany Heating’s customers end up using the program.
Brian said that there is a learning curve at first, but representatives from EGIA are available on the phone to walk you through any questions and they have excellent customer support. GEOSmart even helped Brian with a direct mail flyer advertising the financing options to ensure that Albany Heating didn’t run into any legal issues with the ad.
Once you get the hang of it, the program is very easy to use. Before he even leaves the home, Brian helps the homeowner call GEOSmart’s toll free number and he said that typically the homeowner knows within five minutes if they have been approved. “Dealer’s are charged a fee for each time a homeowner uses the financing program, but it’s helped us close so many more sales that it offsets the cost,” he said.
